Minoti Mehta is the founder and creative director of The Vermilion Company, a luxury wedding and event planning company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. For over a decade, she has planned Indian, fusion, and destination weddings, multi-day corporate retreats, and signature celebrations, from milestone birthdays to anniversaries, for clients across California, Italy, Portugal, and Mexico.

Minoti’s unwavering passion for events was ignited by her late father’s profound love for event planning. Inspired by their shared dream of building a business together, she pursued her studies in Hospitality and Accounting at the University of San Francisco. Her first taste of the industry came through an internship at the St. Regis, where she honed her skills in bespoke hospitality.

After graduation, Minoti went on to work at KPMG in Mergers and Acquisitions where she developed her skills in project planning, project management, and fostering effective collaborations. Within a few years, she took a sabbatical, embarking on an immersive journey of self-discovery through Italy, Spain, and Southeast Asia. It was during this transformative period that Minoti discovered her true calling for the art of crafting memorable events and experiences. Fueled by her newfound purpose, she boldly took a leap of faith and transformed her father’s dream into reality, giving birth to The Vermilion Company.

Her work today spans the full spectrum of celebration and event planning. From Sangeet, Haldi, Baraat, Hindu Ceremony, and Reception festivities to Nikah ceremonies for Muslim couples and Chuppah ceremonies for Jewish couples, she brings the same care and precision to every tradition. She also plans corporate retreats and signature celebrations for clients across the Bay Area, Napa, Sonoma, Lake Tahoe, and the Central Coast, as well as in Italy, Portugal, and Mexico. In 2022, Women Entrepreneurs Review named her one of the Top 10 Indian Women Leaders in the US. Her expertise has been featured in Vogue India and shared on CNBC and NDTV, and she serves as a trusted wedding-planning voice for wikiHow.

Beyond the world of event planning, Minoti embraces her adventurous spirit and finds inspiration in moments of joy and discovery. Whether she’s experimenting with innovative cuisines in the kitchen, collaborating with esteemed chefs from around the globe, finding serenity through yoga and meditation, or embarking on exciting kayaking adventures along picturesque beaches, Minoti finds solace in diverse pursuits that ignite her creativity and infuse her work with a mindful essence. She also holds a Sommelier Certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, reflecting her deep appreciation for wine and hospitality.
